So lately I've been having issues with my eyes watering whenever I wear eyeshadow on my lower lashline. This becomes a problem when I wear some bold colours. It'll water so much that it eats up the shadow and... it just doesn't look nice. I don't know why this is happening. It's an on and off thing. I'd really like it to stop since on Friday, I want to wear colour but I don't want it to go away! Any tips? :[ I don't have the money to go out and buy an eyeshadow seal thing right now.

That happens to me as well. The only way I found to prevent it is avoiding the products that trigger it. It sucks, but that's the only way I prevent my eyes from watering.

That would mean no eyeshadow for the rest of my life. >.> That would put a stop to my YouTube channel, haha.

Can you wear more neutral ones under the eye without a problem? If so, your eyes must be reacting to certain pigments in the brighter eyeshadows. You could try taking a bit of eyeshadow primer underneath the eye before applying anything else down there, but other than that... I don't know what to tell you that isn't "Don't wear any colour on your lower lashline."

I was wearing neutral shadows and my eyes still watered. I already wear primer too. It still gets eaten.
Baaah.

Do you wear contacts? Because that can cause it. You might want to try a relaxing or anti-watering eyedropper.

I don't wear contacts.

Maybe I will just have to invest in the MUFE eye seal thing... won't cure my watering problem, but it's apparently waterproof enough.

You could always speak with your doctor. Problems like allergies, and chronic dry eye could be the culprit.

Are you sure it is the eyeshadow that is causing the problem and not the mascara? I had the same problem for a bit until I switched mascaras. (just so you know it was not an old tube, just one that did not agree with my eyes)

when i was 19, out of the clear blue whenever i wore eyeshadow i would get like a dry cracked skin in the crease of my eye. it was really bad. i could wear any eyeshadow particulary any frosted kind. i was bummed. i even tried clinique & some of the other more expensive brands.
then as mysteriously as it came it went away. about a year later :D
maybe it's just a chemical reaction in ur body.

also i have just bought within the last month a new Maybelline eye-defining eyeliner. it's bright green with a black lid.
anyways, my eyes water like crazy when i waterline my eyes.
it's awesome eyeliner, except for that part..lol :)

Yeah, I mean, I have poked myself in the eye with mascara from time to time and that made my eyes water. But sometimes I won't and it still does and grrrr. I've also had my primer for a while. I think I'm gonna toss it out and use my new one and see if that helps with anything.

I am using Almay's mascara.
I use ecotools for my lashline but I may go back to using my ELF angled brush and see if it makes a difference.

It might not be the makeup. It would just be something in your environment that happened to change around the same time. I used to have that problem with anything on my water line. It went away pretty fast though.

This happened to my a while back. I always had my waterline filled in and I would always poke myself in the eye with a brush or pencil.
try to hold off with the waterline especially the inner waterline the chemicals get into your eye and make you all teary eyed! see how it works!
