I've found useful information that every girl should consider. My eyelashes are looking a little clumpy today (NOT CUTE!) , I had to resort to some mascara I found in a klutch in my closet, don't advise doing this. I mean seriously, is it possible to keep up with how long you've had your cosmetics? Who honestly wants to keep track of something like this? We all have those mornings where we just pick up whatever we can as we head out the door, or at least I do. but there's a saying that goes, it's the little things that count. Though time consuming, details like how long your lipgloss has been sitting at the bottom of a makeup bag could save any beauty from bacteria. I'm going through my purse tonight & burying my old makeup products. let the clutter R.I.P xoxo

thanks for sharing. a lot of times we forget or are sometimes unaware that makeup expires! no one likes to throw out product but its not worth compromising your skin/ health.

I can say that I get wayyy too lazy with my makeup at times, but its so important to take care of what your applying to your body. why compromise? like you said, it's not worth it

I keep a closer eye on anything that is liquid or cream that is used on a regular basis, everything else I look at for changes in consistency or smell. There are very few dry products that I'd toss just based on a generic time line.

i agree with Tamara. I bought chrome yellow about three years ago [on a whim of course] and them of course never used it. i just picked it up this Halloween for my bumblebee makeup, and it was just as pigmented and terrific as when i first bought it.
its the mascaras i have the biggest problem with! grr.. they always get crappy, which sucks when you buy the really expensive ones.. Also the liquid fdn if i didnt buy a pump for it is like, gonezo with the consistency..
thanks for the refresher!

I might get flack for this, but if it doesnt smell I don't toss. I've had mascara for like 6 months, and it still looks and smells new. When I use it, it doesn't clump so why toss it?

I'm gonna be bad and say I'm the same as Kristen.
I personally never throw anything out unless it smells or the consistency has changed. I've never had a problem with anything before and I don't see why I should throw my make-up out (which I pay a fortune for) when there is nothing wrong with it.
What annoys me is the mascara - 3-6months - I can't use a mascara that quick as I use different colours so I'd really love for a brand to come out with one that lasts longer!!

As far as liquid foundation goes, if it smells like crayons, toss it!
