I've tried everything. MAC, MUFE, obscure Japanese brands etc. etc. I just can't keep from my black eyeliner from transferring onto my eyelids. What's the point of having perfect eyeshadow when all my hard work is just gonna be marred by this CRAP?!? And yes, I've got a lot of pent up angst about this situation.
Would really appreciate any tips or tricks you guys can spare.

Have you tried setting it with a powder yet? Match the powder to the color eyeliner you're using and place it overtop. :)

What are you using; pencil, gel/cream or liquid? Are they regular, smudge resistant, waterproof?

Have you considered just tightlining as a way to define your eyes, as an alternative.. removing the product from the lid altogether?

Lex - try Benefit's She-Laq as an over coat. =)

HI, ladies! Thanks so much for the input.

Kris W.: Yes, I've tried setting with eyeshadow. Stuff still sticks to my upper lids. Boo.

Tamara R.: I've tried them all: Pencil, gel, and liquid. The liquid is fine for the precise lines but whenever I use a pencil for the smudgy effect, I get transfer. I've got pretty oily lids so I tend to use waterproof products.
I think I WILL stick to tightlining for now. But I'm still searching for a pencil that I can smudge AND won't transfer. My life would be complete then.

Nancei V.: Really? I've considered it but won't my eye-makeup move around when I apply it? Yes-No? Hmm... Shall stalk the Benefit counter and check it out.

Lex - Go to Sephora (if there's one in your area) and purchase it from there...if you don't like the product, you can alway return it! Have you tried using a setting spray to keep your makeup in tact?

Nancei: I shall-I shall. Don't know if Sephora does returns here in Singapore though. Shall have to check it out.
And yesh. I use the MUFE Mist & Fix. Works a treat for my face. Not so much for the dreaded eyeliner.
Ooh. Does Sephora carry that Model in a Bottle stuff? Looks interesting.

Sephora has this new-ish cream liner that is waterproof and won't budge.

@Tami: Really? Hmm... I'll be heading to Sephora soon. I'll make sure to check it out. Thanks for the tips, folks!

i accidentally got some on my arm and it wouldn't budge after it dried on the skin. I had to scrub it off!

@Tami: Nice! Maybe this product will finally give me that smudged-up line without the transfer. Thanks, heaps!

Good luck - I hope it works out! You can defiitely work it to your liking/smudge but once it's dry it's glued on! I had to use cleasing oil as regular makeup remover won't work.

Yeah, I have to resort to industrial strength make-up, I'm afraid. In ALL things. I've got a super-oily complexion and I live in the heat and humidity of Singapore! So I'm constantly sweating (Attractive, I know!).
REALLY appreciate all the help!

Well, enjoy the oily complexion. I used to be like that when I was younger and now I've got seasonal dry patches. The joys of getting more mature. :(

ARGH! Let's not talk about AGE. I just turned 30 in October. Thought I'd be all graceful about it but you know what? SOD THAT!
And I JUST discovered the joys of make-up! I know. I've got a LOT of catching up to do.

You're still a young grasshopper. My sister turned 30 this year and still looks like she's 21, lol. Have lots of fun with it - makeup is all about expressing yourself.

Your sister is lucky then. Is she tiny? 'Cos I notice that time is kinder to the tiny than it is to great, hulking masses of fat and flesh ie. ME.

Hah! She is at least one size smaller than me, lucky girl. Alas, I'm the voluptuous one in the family. I'm gonna own it and rock those non-Asian looking curves!

Oct 30, 2010

Lex R.

You're Asian, too? I couldn't tell from the photo. Non-Asian curves... Is it safe for me to assume that you're of Chinese descent? No such luck with me. I've got Indian coming in from both sides so round and curvy is all I got to work with. Tragic.

Oct 30, 2010

Tami Y.

Yep, I'm Chinese, but somehow the Latin/Afro genes somehow snuck into my DNA. ;)
All I have are curves too! It sucks to shop in Asia as I'm usually an XL size. Sigh..

Lex R.

O, GAWD! It's hell on a plus-size girl here. Funny, since there're so many of us. Needless to say, my tailor is my BEST friend.
Too bad my Chinese genes went into seclusion. I'm not even good at Math or business! BWAHAHAHA! Wow. My Grandad would love this.

You poor thing...I used to use a tailor in Beijing too. You are not plus size I'm sure, just normal. Oh, I totally suck at math/sciences!! I almost flunked geometry.

Oct 30, 2010

Lex R.

I am SO plus-size. I have been since I was a kid. Good thing I'm pretty much a tomboy. At least I can shop in the Men's section (in Mens sizes!) Sad, right? I used to have better luck shopping in Oz while I was there. SIGH!

Hah. The best thing is to get a tailor, which is rare in SF. You used to live in Australia? it's all relative - sometimes the Gap has such big sizes I end up wearing a small!

Oct 30, 2010

Lex R.

The GAP here only carries sizes for Asian, I'm afraid. I can only find stuff in my size if I shop Armani or DKNY, or some other higher end labels, and who's willing to do that for EVERYTHING?!?
And yeah. I spent 5 years in Australia at Uni there. Good times! Good, drunk, times!
