normally all i use is a powder foundation several shades darker than me to contour.. so i use MAC MSF Natural in Medium deep. I also heard MAC's powder blush in blunt is good as well!

I use three shades of foundation so I can blend it better and it looks more natural than powder. I use my normal foundation for all over coverage, a lighter one down my nose and at other areas for highlight and a darker shade to contour.

i used to use bone beige/emphasize when it came together.. now i believe they sell the dark shade at pro stores but i use blunt by mac i like it better i'd say.. then i mix it with a little refined golden bronzer when blending to make it natural.. i also have used hoola, which i have to say, not a fan of, as well as lise watiers colour wheel.. you can always use a matte e/s if you need!

Hi Ashley! I agree with Brianna, using a powder a several shades darker than your skintone is going to be more effective at contouring than a bronzer is for a couple of reasons:
1. Bronzers are usually designed with shimmer/glow particles. Contouring is supposed to give the illusion of a receding shadow. Shimmer does just the opposite...it makes it stand out!
2. Bronzers typically are warmer toned than regular skin powder. Because bronzer is supposed to give the illusion of a sunkissed healthy tan, it contains those reddish orange undertones which can look great in the summertime, but not year round. Orangey/brown contour stripes on your cheeks?? Nottttt a good look.
Powder foundations and pressed powders are formulated to mimic skins natural tones, so choosing a darker version of your skintone will give you a more naturally contoured look, like it's supposed to be there! I hope this helps :)

I actually got one from mac i think it is called deep golden from their natural skinfinish collection, and this really works for me with a blush.
But i recently bought sleek make up contour kit, and i read that is should be good as well. You should try bobbi brown bronzer, have heard some good reviews on them.

I really like NYC Sunny Bronzer. I didn't really like bronzers, because as Victoria mention they have some shimmer to it. But the Sunny Bronzer is a matte color, and being tan already, it mimics my skin tone. Not to mention at most drugstores, it's $2.99, who doesn't love a steal??
