I have the NYX Caribbean Collection palette, the one that has 5 eyeshadows inside. I was wondering how to depot them. I've seen vids on how to depot the trio palettes but it doesn't seem to work with this palette.

Well you could do it one of several ways. I found that using a hair dryer on the bottom of what I want to depot helps soften the glue so it'll pop out easier. Another method is to use a flat iron on it's highest setting and place what you want to depot on top of it BUT keep in mind this could melt the plastic case. A third method is to heat a flat pan or griddle and place the item on that but again this could melt the plastic.
I think the best method would be the hair dryer method since that won't melt the plastic at all unlike direct heat.
Edit @ 9:58 AM - So as I logged onto YouTube I saw on my front page a new video MissJessicaHarlow on depotting eyeshadows! LOL She used the flat iron method in her vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp74p0qi1oE

Thanks Yasmin! But the thing is, is that I can't get that piece of plastic out of the whole packaging to a point where I could use the flat iron method. If that makes any sense lol

I saw the packaging on their website. I'm thinking maybe if you let it sit on a iron (clothes type) without the steam setting then use an upholstery needle (because it's heavy and flat) you can then pop it out. That or heat it upside down (with the eyeshadows on a towel) then place another towel on top of it and with the iron heat it so the weight of the pan forces it out of the case once the glue has melted enough.

I didn't think depotting these would be so difficult. But thanks Yasmin i'll give that a try!
