what's the best face primer & after finishing spray for a matte look?

I'm not sure a finishing spray would give someone with oily skin a matte look. More like a dewy look.

Primer-wise, I currently use Smashbox Photo Finish Light.

Finishing powders are a lot better than spray. I like Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder and Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. I have combination skin, and Smashbox Primer in light makes my skin a little more oily.

Primer can be hit or miss depending on the oil, but I like Primed and Poreless by Too Faced. I use setting powder instead of spray, powder gives a matte look.

For face primer, I'd say to make sure to get an oil-free one. I have combination oily skin and my favorite primer is Smashbox' photo finish. But if you want something specifically for oil control I would say to get something like Bare Esentuals prime time oil control primer or Urban Decays de-slick. & Some people get confused with finishing sprays. A setting spray such as Fix + will leave you dewy. But there are finisher sprays that will leave you matte and are good for oily types! Such as Urban Decay's de-slick oil control makeup setting spray or skindinavias no more shine makeup finish. Hope this helped! Good luck on your search for good products! <3

I Love Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer , It Evens out my skin tone and minimizes my pores, as for setting my makeup for an affordable option Elf High Definition Setting Powder is the way to go;)

I use MAC's oil control lotion.

OCC Skin: Primer works well for me. And I also like using BE Mineral Veil for a setting powder.

The Urban Decays line of setting sprays are good. I know there is one for oily skin but it hasn't come to the UK yet so I use the all nighter one and it's great on my seriously oily skin. It doesn't make it dewy at all.

I have very oily skin and I use MAC's Matifying gel, Two Faced Primed and Poreless and for power I am using MAC's mineralized skinfinish and this routine has controlled my oil greatly.

I have to give Nyx's HD primer 2 thumbs up for their fight against oily skin! I have an oily t-zone (as most people do) and the primer does wonders for me and my wallet!

I have really oily skin, and I like to use MAC's mattifying gel and Urban Decay's de-slick in a tube. For a finishing spray, I use Urban Decay's De Slick Oil- Control Makeup Setting Spray or my Model in a Bottle (Matte Finish). Neither give me a dewy finish, but it helps keep everything in place! :)

I'd recommend TATCHA blotting papers as a great touch up for oily/combo skin throughout the day. They're made with Abaca leaf and not paper (which dries out your skin leaving you more oily). THEY DON'T REMOVE MAKE-UP! You can find the info on beautylish; just search TATCHA.

I am very oily. I feel like most makeup slides off my face, with or without primer. I have found that NARS 'Pro Prime' Skin Smoothing Face Prep FIRST then NARS Makeup Primer. yep - 2 products - WORKS!. I use ProPrime just about everyday, with or without makeup. It keeps me matte with no shine break through for quite some time.

Bare Minerals and Smashbox did not work for me.
