I think they don't often live up to their hype. While I do like a lot of their lipsticks, I can't say I like any of their other products. Their foundation never matches my fair skin tone, despite getting "matched" at least 6 times. A lot of their sales associates are a bit rude, too, like I'm lucky to get their time, which I am NOT a fan of :p I basically only go to them for SOME of their lipsticks

@Marlee P. I agree with you about the associates and being 'matched'. I dont think some know what they are actually doing. My friend got her make-up done and wanted to get matched and literally the women who did her make-up made her look like a clown.. hideous make-up and the worse thing is they are very rude aswell (as you noted). :)

the only reason i don't own any MAC is because i'm a poor white girl. now, i have had my dreams of owning anything i can imagine by MAC, but i'm pretty real when it comes about it.
i'm sure my financial situation will change sometime & if i ever do go out & start buying MAC, i'll do my research. obviously a lot of MAC products are really great & worth the money, but just because "insert beauty guru here" used a MAC product doesn't mean i'll go blow my money on it.
in the end, it's just like any other beauty product to me. unless it's on a whim, i always try to do some research before buying beauty products. whether it's MAC or wet n wild.

This is definitely a moot subject. I think they have good points and bad points. Almost ALL of their products break my skin out, but their foundations give great coverage, their eyeshadows are pigmented beautifully. So while I think they perform well, I think they cause more problems for problem skin in the end, and that really is not the goal is it? Great for pictures, video, special events, but for everyday use? No. There are many other brands who provide same results, with less disruption to your real skin, and for the same price, or less.I second whoever said they come out with collections too much, it has become ridiculous. With all this being said: I am proud to say I have been Anti-MAC for about a year and a half.

@ Sarah W Your poor friend! I mean, I've walked out of a MAC store more than once with the dreaded foundation jaw outline, but to look like a clown? That's terrible! I feel like I always have to fight for an associate's attention just to get a product. And when I finally do get helped, they seem like I'm wasting their time. I feel like if I'm spending money on their product, they can at least pretend that they're willing to help me

Deffinitly over rated! So many products out there that are comparable and much cheaper than MAC.

I have started to use more of drug store products because they work the same way, and so much cheaper.

Yes. They know how to market their stuff! They're a good gateway brand into exploring others in the cosmetics world. I'll always have a soft spot for them!
