I've been searching high and low for a good matte red lipstick. I have fair skin with cool undertones and I'm stumped! Help!

MACs Ruby Woo... very universally flattering shade!

I like Ruby and Cherry from NYX's Black Label Line. Ruby is more of a true red and Cherry more of a blue toned red. Swatches are up on my blog

I'm with you Jessica, all my red lipsticks seem to look too pink or wash me out completely :/

I agree with Amber P! Ruby Woo looks gorgeous in all types of skin tones IMO. I know Dita Von Teese and Kat Von D have said that Ruby Woo was their go-to lipstick and they have gorgeous fair skin like you do Jessica. :)

Ruby Woo!

Ruby Woo was a bit too orange for me, but perhaps I'll give that one a go next time I go to the MAC counter. The MAC rep tried Russian Red on me and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised!

Andrew, I love it too! I think it might become a more regularly used color in my makeup arsenal. I wear a lot of nude and neutral mauves. I need more pop.

Ruby woo is definitely more pink than Russian red.

Then I'm glad I went with Russian Red. Pinkish colors are harder for me to pull off. I was going to go into a more burgundy red, considering it would fit the look I'm trying to achieve, but I just loved it on so I bought it!

If you like Russian Red, you may like Red Revival from Maybelline. They're very similar.
