Try running a soft q-tip lightly on your waterline before lining with a gel liner. Have the q-tip and your liner of choice ready to go so you don't blink between either step or you will re-wet your waterline. Liners stick better to a dry surface. Work quickly. Gel liners tend to last a lot longer than pencil versions. You may also choose to set either version you choose with a powder shadow but I don't recommend it if you habe sensitive eyes or are a contact lens wearer.

I wouldn't recommend drawing on your waterline... My optometrist says it's a big no-no!

There's nothing wrong with putting eyeliner on your upper or lower waterline, but if you jam the pencil in your eye I suppose that could be a problem. Always use your eyeliner with care anyways since it is around your eyes. If putting eyeliner on your waterline was bad for you, no make-up artist would do it.

Alyssa, Sarah is right. You can develope syst from eyeliners so if you do it be very careful. I know from personal experience because I normally don't wear a lot of eyeliner. However I had a lot of business meets for a whole week and afterward I had a lump on the waterline that looked like a pimp. You know makeup is bad for your skin right? You just need to be careful.
