OPI Kyoto Pearl vs Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl
http://zadidoll.blogspot.com/2011/07/dupe-alert-opi-kyoto-pearl-vs-sinful.html
So today I went out and of course picked up another nail polish. I was good... kind of. I only bought three new OPIs - well not new but new to my collection. I picked up Kyoto Pearl, You Don't Know Jacques! and the Navy Shatter. Yesterday (Friday) I picked up at Walmart a bottle of Pure Ice in Wild Thing!
I was sitting here looking at Kyoto Pearl and was thinking that was it really a coincidence that Sinful Colors had a white polish that had Japan's new capital (Tokyo) name while OPI had one with the old capital of Japan (Kyoto)? The more I thought about it the more I wondered if I was right in my suspicion that Tokyo Pearl was a dupe of Kyoto Pearl so off to RiteAid I went to pick up a bottle of Sinful Color's Tokyo Pearl and sure enough it's a 100% dupe to OPI's Kyoto Pearl!
OPI Kyoto Pearl, retail price: $8.50
Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl, retail price: $1.99 (as little as 99 cents when on sale)
Unless you're an OPI collector save yourself around $6.50 and pick up Tokyo Pearl from Sinful Colors. Both colors are part of their respective companies permanent lines. :D
