I wear a lot of black, white and red I'm kinda a nerd I go to hot topic a lot I listen to a lot of dubstep punk alt. and rock I like to dye my hair a lot too and I wanna get a lot of piercings and tattoos... Does that make me goth or seem emo in anyway? (I don't cut though)

Well it all depends on how you feel! Most people are given a tag, but it doesn't mean you are... For example people say I'm "a Girly girl" but I'm not always a Girly! be who you want to be! If people want to categorise you, let them! But don't let them bring you down! If you want to be a "goth/emo" be one! If not BE YOURSELF!:) hope this helped xxx

I think that makes you what is classed as a 'scene' it's someone who likes gothic things, but does not have the issues that comes with emotional unstable people:3

You sound more alternative! "Real" goths wear dark, dramatic things that relate to Victorian gothic. Emo style is just simple black clothes and a generally depressed look.
You don't have to define or label yourself. I recently listened to a song called "Follow You Arrow" by Kacey Musgraves, and it has an awesome message.
&If you're wondering why I know so much about this - We did a project on it at my art center :P

You're only goth if you think you are.

You don't have to label yourself but just be yourself.

I'm a goth and you'd definitely know if you were a goth. You'd simply just fall into that category without trying. If you're unsure, you're probably not a goth. Goths mainly listen to heavier music too rather than the punk and rock you mentioned.
