Opinions on blonde ombré?

I have strawberry blonde hair and it is definitely on the medium side of blonde. I always see girls with dark hair do ombré to a almost caramel toned medium blonde. I don't want to dye my roots. I was wondering if doing and ombré to almost a platinum blonde would look nice.
