You may need to exfoliate your lips before applying your lipstick. If you have a ton of dead skin built up on your lips, no lipstick will look as nice as you'd like it too, especially if it's matte. Try exfoliating and see if that helps. You may also want to try a more hydrating lipstick formula. The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains are relatively hydrating and the stain lasts for a while. I also like Milani, Rimmel, and NYX on the drugstore/inexpensive side, and Make Up Forever and MAC for mid- to higher-end.
