Plum hair color

I'm thinking of dyeing my hair plum. I have black hair and I'm not sure how I'd do it since I've tried dyeing it reddish brown before and it barely worked. Any tips?

It's really hard going from black hair to any other color. You might have to bleach it.

It's a long and committed journey to get the perfect plum hair. you'll need to bleach your hair so that the color will be be vibrant. think of coloring your hair like you color paper. if you put the perfect plum color on top of black paper you'll never see it. so use white paper(: the first time you bleach your hair it will most likely come out bronzy and orange, with the roots blonde since it's closer to the heat of your head. wait for 2 or more days without washing your hair to bleach again for touch ups. once your hair has no more bronze color you can put the plum color on(: it'll take at least 2 bleaches to get your hair blonde. and when your hair is plum a good way to upkeep it is to take a cup of conditioner and put some plum dye into it. stir it until it's the color you want and put it in your hair for 30 min. keep the color vibrant and it deep conditions your hair! remember, bleach strips your hair so use deep conditioners and leave in conditioners to help keep your hair healthy and happy. Yeah you will have to bleach it I have brown hair that's not even really that dark and for any color to show up well I have to use bleach, great color choice by the way a plum color was like the first color I dyed my hair when I was like 11 lol but it didn't show up like it was supposed to I looked ridiculous but if done right I'm sure it will look great on you :)
