I'm a apprentice hairdresser and tbh shampoo and conditioner don't necessarily make your hair grow. It's how you treat yourself and body by what you eat and how you treat your hair. My suggestion since I'm doing the same as you is to do a deep conditioning treatment once a week then put a shower cap or cling wrap over it and sit in the sun or somewhere warm and do this after you've shampooed your hair twice. Shampooing twice is a "must do" the first gets rid of products and oil on the hair. A shampoos main purpose is to open the cuticle layer of the hair. When it's been washed twice gently comb your hair with a wide tooth comb NOT a brush - they cause damage and breakage - obviously you've dried your hair between shampooing it and combing it but not to the point it's completely dry. Now your hair was will feel most likely like straw while the cuticle is open but don't worry the job of the conditioner is to close the cuticle while the heat from the sun or a hair dryer set on very low temp on low spin is enough to allow your hair to take what it need from the conditioner. Now I'd suggest sitting outside to so this especially in summer as I really let it sit on my hair - I multitask and paint my nails then too - when your ready to rinse it out. I'd suggest leaving it in for 30 mins depending in how often you wash your hair.
Now another way to grow your hair long is to change your diet depending on what you eat. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetable along with a protein rich diet is always great. Why I suggest protein is because your hair and nails are made of keratin which is a kind of protein and your hair will definitely grow a little father with a high protein diet. Now protein is also a food good for weight loss so be careful if you don't want to loose weight. I suggest 50-70gr protein with a main meal with fruit or veg on the side and less carbs. And a portion of 50gr for a snack ad eating every two-three hours even if your not hungry and aiming for 5-6 small meals a day (again weight loss related) but works very well for the hair too:-)
head massage are also good anything that simulates te blood circulation of your scalp as it promotes hair growth. Hope this helps some what:-)

Wow thanks Beki! I definitely learned a few tips I didn't know before. Yay! Can you recommend a good shampoo and conditioner for my hair? It's very long, its not color-treated and it's rather thick and coarse but it is straight. I have no luck, it's rather unmanageable.
