Find a dye close to your natural colour, then you'll just have to let it grow out from there.

Oh ok, if you are trying to lift a dark color from your hair, I'd use a lot of hair masks. As odd as it sounds, those things can aid in yanking your color out. Also, putting peroxide, benzoil peroxide and/or baking soda can help lighten it. Even lemon juice can help lighten your hair color. Also, get out in the sun! I don't know if you know anything about horses but I had a black horse once and the sun bleached her coat light brown. Your hair will work like that too. They also have that sun in solution at walmart and you can just spray that in your hair and put it under a blow dryer or go outside and it will lighten your hair. After you've lightened your hair, you can either take it to a professional or do it yourself; just bleach it out and then If I'm correct, you could get a cheap "permanent" box color that's like, a light/dark golden brown and that should fade to a lighter brown/darker blonde after a couple washes and that should fix your issue until it grows out.
