Why does contouring make you look older?

Why does contouring your face make you look more mature? hahaha I've just started doing it to define my features and multiple people have said that I look older.

I've never really heard that before. But contouring (especially the cheekbones) definitely makes the bone structure more prominent which may be a factor in appearing a little older. I bet it looks great though! :)

You lose your baby fat as you get older, so you get more defined cheekbones, like what contouring helps to do.
