Hey ladies just wondering what use think of bare minerals? is it something you would wear on holidays.

Personally I don't really like bare minerals because it doesn't provide a lot of coverage. You really have to pack it on for there to be good coverage. It can look cakey when it's packed on that much. I think it's better for people who already have nice skin. I just think there are better foundations out there and if you are looking for a cheap powder foundation, I like the one by Nyx or loreal true match.

I like it for certain effects on looks, like a glow to your skin, the bronze is good so is the mineral veil and the eye shadows are so pretty I'm surprised they haven't been talked about.

I disagree with Trish. She is right that sometimes you do not get enough coverage. If you need heavier coverage then you need to use the right brush. A densely packed brush will provide more coverage than just a regular powder brush. This is true whether you use the loose or pressed powder. I use the Ready foundation (in fairly medium) every single day. I have noticed my skin has gotten healthier over time when using it. If you are using any powder foundation you should use a base, even if all you are using is your moisturizer. I am an MUA and have used both on myself and on clients many different foundations but Bare Minerals is my personal favorite.

We all have different skin types so it really varies. I suggest you just try it yourself. Buy the $20 trial kit at ulta if you don't have the budget to buy the $60 kit.

In terms of mineral makip Jane iredale is superior in every way, but more costly.

I use it and I love it but everyone is different so try the trial kit first that's what I did

Really depends. I agree with Molly. The right type of application using the right tools will make a difference. I like to use bare minerals on my clients with sensitive skin. I personally love it. I definitely notice a difference in my skin when I use mineral makeup. Another great alternative to bare minerals is cover fx mineral fx powder. There's loose and pressed powder in their range. I think it's worth the investment.

I agree with Trish M. I didn't "cake it on" I used a small amount and it looked cakey on me. Everyone's skin is different and I've seen people it looked great on just not me.

It's the only foundation I use. I have a fair amount of acne & it's the only thing that will give me great coverage, last all day, and keep my skin healthy. I swear by it. Everyone experiences products differently though.

I sort of agree with everyone. The nice thing about bare minerals is its pretty cheap in comparison to other high end brands. I've noticed though that if you want a flawless, full coverage look, you really have to work with it. I don't really mean caking it on but I do mean taking the time to use the right primers, base and concealor along with the foundation and the all over colors/bronzers. Usually if I use this brand on customers it takes me a whopping 15 minutes just for their complexion as opposed to 5 with other brands.
That being said, it is lightweight and can have a beautiful finish if you take your time with it.
The brush you use as somebody else said makes a huge difference too. :)

I recently started using bare minerals and so far love it. You have to use the right brush and concealer to get the flawless look but it's so worth it. It is so lightweight on my skin, I don't feel my pores getting clogged anymore and the look lasts all day

Yes if you don't know that much about bareMinerals then I suggest you get one of there starter kits-they have more than one. I use there MineralVeil because MineralVeil looks great on everyone you can get it normal, with Spf 15, or you can get it tinted. I also use BareMineral eyeshadow in Hope and it works great for me its a light color so I use it as a highlight or blend it with darker colours. So too sum it up BareMinerals is great.

I'm not a huge fan and I used it for a few years. They sell you their brushes to apply the powder but their brushes are pretty crappy IMO. I also found you either got very light coverage or it got cakey. I have Laura mercier mineral loose powder now for when I'm in a rush and I like it much better. Maybe it's got to do with the brush I'm using, Urban Decay's Optical Blurring brush?

I prefer Laura Mercier mineral powders, or Pur's.
