(Eyeshadow generally speaking,) but any palette! When your colors get used up, what do you do? Keep the palette until more are gone? Keep it till they're all gone? Depot? Depot after a certain number is gone?
I'm finally starting to actually hit pan and use up a bunch of shadows in various palettes, so I'm just wondering how people generally deal with it!

I usually depot after I've even hit pan on one.. Not sure why :S I love using things up though, so satisfying even if it is sad at times! x

Haha it's funny you say that Jacqueline, I can never decide if I'm happy or sad when I use something up or hit pan!

If you dont want to depot you can always pass the palette along to a young family member. For example:My nieces love playing with makeup. So if its a cheap palette thats almost gone I give it to them to use/play with. They are allowed to wear any crazy colors they want while they are at home, so its a good way to let them express themselves and learn how to apply makeup.

My nieces are age 9 and 12 so they are old enough to use it properly. And my 12 year old niece is learning what colors she likes to wear and how to apply, while my 9 year old niece just likes to try things out and feel pretty :)

Until everything is gone or when one eyeshadow keeps on breaking and gets the others stained and it won't go away... like with my beloved wet n' wild vanity palette unfortunately.

Til it's all finished!! Unless the color(s) left are ones that you do not like. I have had pallets where I LOVE most colors but there are 1 or 2 I would never use.

IF You're keeping your eyeshadows clean they should last nearly 3 years. By clean I mean, NOT licking your brushes, NOT dipping your fingers into your shadows,NOT storing them in humid, hot places (i.e your car, bathroom), using clean brushes on your shadows, and about once a week (if used frequently) wiping the surface of each shadow with 70% alcohol or BeautySoClean
