Shoe boxes are great. You can make shelves by cutting the front panel and then stacking them on top or each other. Then cover the boxes in a pretty paper or fabric.

You could go to the dollar store and buy cheap organizers or pencil case/ stands but use it for eyeliners etc

If you have lots of makeup bags (and let's be honest, what girl doesn't?) just keep them all in a desk drawer or something. Keep your red lipstick in one bag, mascaras in another, etc.

I actually got a gift of glass cups (from adventure time..) for christmas. They're cute and don't take up a buttload of room.
Cup 1 has all my lip sticks in it, 2 has my lip glosses, 3 has my eyeliners and stick eyeshadows, 4 has my concealers, 5 has my blushes in it. These of course are my most used things. Also I have my brushes in and I heart ny mug. My naked palette sits just in front of them on my desk.
Being in college there is no use for a massive makeup collection to haul around so I only brought things I use the most with me for my dorm.

I actually still have all of my makeup in a train case from travelling over Christmas. I'm not entirely lazy, it just seems to work out best for me to keep my items in there (especially if it has fold out drawers like mine). I keep all my brushes in little mason jars and it looks soooo cute! I also bought a clear acrylic lipstick stand that holds 24 lipsticks (for under $20), I love it!
