What are your tips for a beginner doing winged liner? I don't really want the exotic, long wing. Just a fairly short wing and kinda casual. Also, what do you do your winged eyeliner with? I'm trying with a liquid as it's all I have other than pencil, with I don't like using.
Thanks in advance, please, add pictures of your winged eyeliner!!

Since you are new (or even when you are use to it I have seen people say they do it), you could draw it with pencil first then go over with liquid, since pencil is more forgiving and easier to fix.
Okay, so what I do (I have hardcore OCD and I find this to be the best way to make sure they match but also feel it'd be good for beginners) is I will draw the line along the lash line, then I will open my eye and pick where I want my wing to go to (I usually do it directly below the end of my eyebrow and across from the highest point of my crease), put the tip of my brush at that point close my eye and draw down connecting the the liner at my lash line. Go back to the tip and draw another line in for the thickness and fill in.

Have you tried using the eyeliner markers? These helped me create a perfect wing every time without being a pain like liquid liners can be!
