Do you overdose on the hairspray? my hair won't hold a curl unless I relentlessly spray it until it resembles straw

Oh I also like using warm rollers, I find that those curls actually do stay with hairspray, but the curls arent as perfect.

If you want to curl your hair often or just have a lot more volume I suggest putting layers in your hair. If you don't want something so drastic then I agree with Anupa. Put lots of hairspray.

I used to have that problem til I found the Remington pearl curling wand. I got the 1/2-1" barrel and my curls lasted 2-3 days. Make sure you curl in small sections.

Make sure you're using a proper styling aid. Mousse or root lifter, or a style primer, second step would be evaluate the heat. If your hair is fine, use a lower temp, coarse hair requires a higher temperature. Last would be to set the curls. When your done with one, instead of letting it just flop down and letting the weight of your hair pull it out, do the curl and either pick up a box of pin curl clips or bobby pins in a pinch and pin the curl up right up by your scalp until it is 100% cooled. Do this all over your head, spray, take down, spray again, style as desired.
