I loooove cute little ringlet curls... I've been wanting to get a perm for a while now but I hear about 50% pros about it & 50% cons. Opinions?

Don't do it. I got it done cause I thought I'd get ringlet shaped onnes. but no. its more like a tight wave
it damaged my hair soooo bad
its been a year now and its still damaged. the only way to fix it is to grow it out.
please don't do it. only naturally curly girls can pull it off. stick to tenporarily curling your hair. curling your hair everydday for the rest of your life will cause less damage than a perm. absolutely no hope for your hair. mine grew out half way and when it grows more I have to cut of like a 6inch chunk. pleeeeeeaaaaasssseeee don't make the mistake I did.

Perms are very damaging to your hair as they use chemicals. So personally I wouldn't recommend getting it done and also you would need to stick with that hairstyle for a while sometimes its better to change up your hairstyle if you get bored one week!

Don't do it. I'm a hairstylist and I don't recommend it. They smell really bad first of all. Second they damage your hair. And third when tour hair grows out there's a fine line where the perm starts and your new hair growths comes in.

I had to cut my hair all off. It was awful. But that might just b me cuz my hair is really sensitive.

I know people who have gotten perms, me included, any some complain and others don't. My perm caused breakage, leaving me with a lot of baby hairs sticking up on the too of my head. I has been a few years now and the hairs still stick up.

I just got one and my hair isnt frizzy or seems damaged. I take really good care of it, to me its worth it. I have to use a lot of products though. Kinda bummed that everyone convinced you out of it, I think the result depends on your hair type and how you care for it. :/

Really? See, that's what I was hoping to hear... I was just worried about the damage that could be done, & how to get it back to being healthy again. Ill definitely talk to a salon about it though.

Definitely at least talk to them about it. You just have to have your healthy before doing it, then kinda 'revive' or nurse it back to health when you get it done. My damage is minimum but I'm still treating it as if I have tons. The hairdresser can tell you what types of product you need. If not I can give you a list of what I have because my hairdresser said I have a good line up going. Haha.

For shampoo I have Paul Mitchell Spring Loaded Detangling Shampoo, Biolage Fiberstrong for conditioner, Paul Mitchell Full Circle Leave in Treatment, Paul Mitchell Twirl Around, Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse, Got2b Shine Serum, Not Your Mothers Kinky Moves, and La Bella Lots of Curls Styling Gel. I switch between using the gel and mousse. I don't use both at the same time. Lol. Hope this helped!

& your hair looks sooooo cute Brianna. I'm just scared though because I want ringlets. I'm going to really have to do my research because I don't want it to come out nappy or anything... You guys really did help though, thank you!

I tried it too but my hair got so damaged that I had to cut my hair and I had so pretty, long hair. I wouldn't recommend it :(
