Tips:
-put tape on the skin around the nail (minimizes clean up)
- since you're doing two colors and the first color is light. Instead of using a white base, use that light color then all you have to worry about is one color to sponge
- use a makeup sponge. Once the sponge dries cut off the part with dried polish
-Put on the top coat before it dries to help blend

Elmer's glue around the nail let dry then you can just peel all of it off

Also instead of wasting tape you could put lotion around your fingertips and use a q-tip to wipe the leftover nail polish away.. Make sure not to put it on the nail, just on the skin around it if that makes any sense...
