Whenever I dye my hair a permanent black it always fades into dark brown in a short amount of time. Is there any good brands that don't really do that?

Uh. The problem probably isn't the color, it's your hair. I've been coloring my own hair black for years and mine has never ever faded into dark brown.
If you've used several different brands and it does that, your hair is probably damaged to the point where it won't hold color. Also, don't use box color. Get color from Sally's and use 10 volume developer with it.

And adding a protein filler might also help if it's damaged.
