I love Marlena...and MUG shadows :) I only have 2 Mac shadows to compare them to but I think they're comparable quality and Makeup Geek are 1/3 of the price!

I think they are good quality shadows I have a few. Better than MaC I don't know about that...they are definitely good quality shadows for the price. I dobt think it's cool to bash another brand to build urs up tho, not very professional to say the least. I'm a MAC girl so maybe I'm a little biased but her shadows are very good quality I give her that much.

In my opinion the quality is comparable but the color range isn't....you kn9w MaC just has some great colors that can't be duped.

Thats still being biased...ai wouldnt mind trying them out but why swatch the black,pink, and white most companies are pretty good at duping those wish she did the other colours.

Nothing at all I agree with you!! I'm all for low cost alternatives but bashing is like hating...and I ain't never been a hater...so I can't get with that. I woukd different if she had some real proof that her products were better...but its just very subjective...I Need proof!

She wasn't bashing them though. she was talking about dupes yes and said that some she liked better than Mac's version but by no means being rude. I can understand why she would be bias but still. She wasn't hating.

I love Mac eyeshadows and other brands too!! I guess it depends on the person and what they like. It seems a lot of people don't like Mac for their own reasons. But everyone is different.

Hey Mookey...so I hear ppl knock MAC all the time. I've never came across a cosmetic line where everything is absolutely perfect. I have low end to high end and honesty some of my low end is Better than the high end. MAC is a good cosmetic line and I think makeup geek was totally out of line to diss MAC... MAC has some really good products and thats undeniable!! I'm standing firm on that

Lastly, MAC is one line that has foundation, concealor, and etc.for women of color. Makeup geek doesn't offer this as MAC does. It's good that she wants to promote her brand, but she needs to do so in a professional manner.

I saw her comparison video last night. Some were close dupes while others were way off. She definitely needs to slow her roll and let her line speak for itself. That's what a true business person would do...no reason to bash and by her deleting comments is a little suspect as well.

How on earth is making a comparison "hating"? Good lord, by that standard every single thread on Beautylish is a hater thread! There's a difference between saying "This product lasts longer than that product and is more pigmented," and saying "Oh my god that product sucks so horribly they aren't even astronomically close to compare because that company sucks!"
I mean, really? Marlena uses MAC all the time and talks them up constantly in her other videos. She isn't "dissing" anyone or anything. If you think that a company CEO advertising their own product is a diss, you are hugely mistaken.
For example: "MAC products are overpriced, over hyped and unoriginal, and the brand caters to immature fan groupies and old women desperate to remain young." THAT is a diss. Marlena wasn't doing anything of the sort in that video, or any of her other videos.
This whole thread just sounds like catty gossip about how anyone could possibly compare to the almighty MAC overlords. Gimme a break.

Emily why you so mad boo?? The reason I say it's diss is bcuz she is bashing the quality of Mac while trying to imitate their color selection. A mire professional approach is simply saying her products are comparable to Mac but at a lower price point. Of course as a CEO your going to promote your brand but let the priduct speak for itself. Most dupes videos are done by beauty vloggers not company CEOs. I've never heard of tge CEO of NYx or Wet N Wild comparing their products to another high end line at least not publicly. That in itself is just bad business esp since I believe she used to work for Mac and currently sells MAC products in her store whinch I'm sure she profits from. So maybe hating was the wrong word but definitely unethical, which in my opinion is worst!
