Look for primers with face matte function. Also, often oil control with pore size reduction primers do very, very well at controlling oily skin even if your pores are fine [just a word of advice...not always true though]. Two Faced's primed & poreless works great at oil control and specializes in keeping the face matte for a long period of time. No primer is perfect though, so try to keep some oil control paper on hand at all times.

I also agree on the milk of magnesia part [extremely brilliant idea], but do be aware some people have reported [minor] allergic reactions to it. Please test on a less exposed part of your skin prior to putting it on your face.
