The thing is, they are not easy to grow out. I think they're awesome, but the grow back is enough to keep me from it.

Agree with Stacey Ann, why don't you get 3/4 half cornrows on the side they look awesome n similar to the shaving result, that's what I do when I want that kinda of look

It would look pretty on you!! But have never thought it was worth it unless the person doing it had short hair, I can't tell completely from your picture but I'm guessing it's long it would be such a shame!! That's just my opinion,

If you want to do then do it, hair grows back. I think it would look cute on you. I use to shave my head all the time (various styles from mohawks to chelseas), I have been missing it lately and was actually thinking of doing that cut but decided on a different one (like Mia Wasikoska with short hair). It really isn't that bad to grow back out.

The girl on the right actually has an undercut, which means she can choose to play her shave up, or hide it. That's always an option if you are going to explore shaving.
