So, I heard of using mayonnaise as a deep conditioning treatment. Has anyone tried it? Or have good or bad facts on it? If you did try it, how did your hair treat you afterwards? Any and all input is welcome. :)

I tried it in middle school... Mixed with raw egg. It was gross, I don't know what I was thinking! Lol. I'm not sure if its a myth or wives tale type tip to get shiny hair. I think I would gag if I were to put mayo in my hair again..,

Just use olive oil instead. Mayonnaise is made using olive oil. Or if you want shine, rinse your hair with beer after shampoo and conditioning. :)

Not too fond of mayonnaise, I think argan oil is better, I use an argan oil hair mask by pro naturals and it doesn't leave your hair as greasy.

Thanks so much, ladies! :)
Does the smell stay for long after you rinse it? Can you wash out the smell?

The smell for me lasted roughly a week. It didn't wash the scent out no matter how many times I washed it.

Well these days.. The best thing for my hair is the olive oil , coconut oil and honey mask. I let it sit for 2 hours and then wash and condition.. I come out of the shower with smooth and shiny hair :)

That thing of using mayonnaise on hair have to be home made mayonnaise. The bottle ones from store its just greassy. My aunt did that the day of her wedding and she toke 3 days to take it off of her hair. Home made mayonnaise works because of the egg lemon juice and olive oil. You can made it. But not think about the brand mayo.

The mayo helps because it has both protein from the egg and moisture from oil which is great for your hair and it needs it but if your hair is fine texture its probley going to weight it down, worth a try
