Hi everyone!
I recently noticed that my hair under my canopy (top layer of hair) is getting pretty damaged. typically closer to my neck area. I have very long hair and I always go for trims when needed. I also don't over work the under layer when styling because its not really seen. It's super difficult to brush. On most days I have my hair up in a simple bun. Is anyone else going through this and if so, how can this be prevented? I keep thinking its because of pillow or putting my hair in a bun so often. I use elastics that are 'metal' free.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

That's because the hair under canopy is longer and that means it is also older, more damaged. Have the same problem and just wait until it will grow to cuit it lil by lil. You can use a leave-in conditioner it helps to brush more easy. I use sometimes gliss cur with oils. Also I use 2 brushes, one with very rare teeths and then another ionic massage brush from bamboo with more thick teeths, start brushing from ends. I also started wearing buns because of this problem:-)

Glad I'm not the only one! I've been using Revlon Equave 2 Phase Hydro Nutrive Conditioner, its the only way I'll brush threw this mess! It works amazing. Maybe I should start using two brushes! thanks ;)

Try applying pro naturals argan oil to that area, it's very moisturizing and can help repair. Since you sweat more in that area, perspiration and the salt in it can dry out and damage that part of hair.
