I have been a makeup artist for sometime now. Did a makeup course and got certified. My aim at joining the class was to learn more about makeup application. I have had some luck with gigs but in the past one year it has been a bit hard getting even simple gigs. I have a portfolio and it's more recent. I have reasonable pricing for groups and individuals. Brides I charge between $50.00-$85.00 depending on the type of look. $5.00 for lashes. Bridesmaids $45.00 plus $5.00 for lashes and extra person $35.00-$45.00
I do not want to go to bridal
shows as I heard they are not that helpful. Any tips or recommendations?

Try to find salons and/or hairstylists that do a lot of bridal parties. A lot of times salons won't hire a person who is solely a makeup artist and they often have a list of select makeup artists who they refer to clients needing those services. Networking will get you farther than anything! Make sure that you have business cards and ask salons, tanning salons, or boutiques around your area if you can leave them. A lot of times local businesses help others out in that area!

Try also to check in with local bridal shops and cake shops in your area.
