I heard some people suffered from acne afterwards... I already have an ongoing battle with the stupid pimples so I was scared of taking biotin... But I really want to take it haha...

I was taken Hairfinity which was 2,500 mg a pill two times a day But Hairfinity vitamins are 60 caplets for $24 a bottle. So I went to Walmart & found Nature's Bounty Extra Strength Hair, Skin and Nails which are 150 caplets for $10 5,000 mg three times a day! Do all Biotin capsules work the same? I'm going for 5,000mg a day to 15,000mg a day. I'm worried about taking a higher dosage.
& yes I suffered with the acne.

Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin - in other words, your body can't store it, so any excess is flushed out of the body. Most people already get enough biotin out of their diet, and from what I know there is no scientific evidence to prove that biotin will help with hair growth. It's rare to have side-effects, but always talk to your doctor before taking a new supplement. And just keep in mind that the so-called 'benefits' have not been proven: You're better off focusing on an overall healthy diet than one specific vitamin in excess.

Acne is the number one side effect Biotin users may experience. Recommended dose is 2500mg, but it is unknown at what dosage one may be able to achieve results.
