Ok my 7 year old daughter has beautiful hair. when she gets out of the shower her hair is in very tight curls. And it will stay that way all day if I don't brush it but if I do brush through it it turns into a huge afro.. So recently we decided to do something different I flat ironed her hair for the first time and she loves it it is shoulder length. I need help finding some really unique hairstyles for a 7 year old it can include braids Twistys or anything like that but it also wants to show off her hair as being long and straight... I'll post a pic of her hair so you know what I'm talking about.

Keep her hair curly. Don't overdo it with flat ironing it or it can lead to severe damage. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube for natural hair styles. Try the Shea Moisture products in her hair.

Please don't flat iron her hair to often, it can cause heat damage and then you'll have to cut her hair to completely repair it. But do twist outs, Bantu knots, and simple plait styles. Use products from Shea Moisture, Miss Jessie's, and Aunt Jackies. There's also Just For Me products.

I wouldn't use too many irons or heat on her hair. Just do up keep with it. Most natural hair care lines are sold at cvs target I would look into a leave in also a co wash (every 6 days) and a hydrant mist/spray. You can make your own with water and lavender, boil the water first! YouTube has so many style just type in natural hair styles.

Don't flat iron! try this shampoo and conditioner my friend uses it on her daughter and she is always getting complements! she then doesn't brush but lightly combs threw her hair with a large comb!! it doesn't get poofy but still gives it volume and the curls still look cute!

Ok everyone... she's only 7 years old so I was completely against flat ironing her hair but she begged me and begged me and begged me she says she wants to have soft wavy hair that she can swing around like the white girls lol.. I guess..so after a year of her begging me I told her I do it one time and THAT IS IT... so while she has it Straight right now, I want to take advantage of some cute hairstyles to do while HER hair straight because it's not going to happen again but thanks for the advise :-)

Okay everyone don't beat me up just yet lol.. My daughter NyAsia, she has been begging me for a whole year to flat iron her hair, and I've always said no because I know the damage and she's only 7 years old... well after years of begging me I finally did it for her so I want to take advantage of a cute hairstyle while its flat because it will not happen again ever and she knows that... not untill she's at least 16 anyway but thank you for the advice anyways I appreciate it.

But honestly I never had my hair straightened at 7, nor my cousins, so I don't know what styles would work while it's straight. Pigtails and a slightly curled bang maybe?

You can leave her hair natural. The gd thing about curly hair is that you don't actually have to comb it out. In the shower you can condition it n comb it out with a wide tooth comb. N then outside the shower you can finger comb it jus using your hands. All natural is best for a young girl.

I understand that leaving it out can make it extremely tangled and both of you will really dread when its time to comb it. Invest in products made for her hair type. Mixed chicks is a good brand but there are others. Once its manageable you don't have to worry about an iron.

I have hair exactly like your daughter. If you want to style it while its straight you can do a half up half down and curl it with a curling iron and a cute bow. Just make sure you use a heat protecting spray.
