I have a problem. I sweat, a lot. Under my arms, and I don't know how to stop it. I use anti perspirant, but it doesn't work.

Have you tried a more expensive clinical deodorant? You could also go to the doctor to get a prescription deodorant if it's that bad.

Please don't use anti perspirant, it causes cancer, try to drink lots of water so your sweat doesn't smell.

@sarah: I have used Secret Clinical Strength (the stuff that's kind of a mixture between gel and solid) and it does nothing. Do you have any specific brands that could help?

Wait- antiperspirant causes cancer?

Yeah I've read it a lot of times and I honestly think we'd rather sweat than have the risk of getting cancer... Anti prrspirant closes our pores which is very dangerous.

Oh... So anything that closes your pores is dangerous?

Anything with aluminum labeled anti perspirant is bad for you. try a healthier deodorant like clean, lavanilla, Tom's of Maine, or even arm &hammer.

Okay, thanks. (In case your wondering, I'm rummaging through the pantry for some arm and hammer.)

If you're worried about cancer go for something with out aluminum, but it's proven that deodorant doesn't cause cancer. My moms a doctor

You can use certain-dri. I sweat a lot, and it was the only thing that worked for me. If the problem is serious and nothing works, you can go to the doctors for a prescription strength antiperspirant or even Botox injections under the arms. Don't worry Becca, there is no conclusive evidence linking antiperspirant as a cause of cancer. It's safe :)

If it's really bad there are shots that you can get. I think ts like Botox to stun the sweat glands but I'm not really sure. Doesn't sound very pleasant but it's an option

Also a derm can give you a stronger prescription deodorant that can help.

As Priscilla mentioned, if you have serious sweating you can have botox injection into you armpits. It's a common practice and all the info you need will be on the net including how long the injections last. Hope this helps

I know this sounds strange, but I heard men's deodorant works way better. Idk I have never tried doing this lol I'm sure there could be better ways out there.

Whatever you end up using apply it after showering/ bathing the night before and make sure your under arms are completely dry first. Doing these two things will help a lot.
