I've got very chapped lips. So bad that the corners of my lips cut. And always leave a dark scar. I always wear Chapstick. And exfoliate But it don't help. How can I get rid of it?

Oh this happens to me too! I apply Carmex in the corners and all around my lips! And on them too!

I agree with drinking more water. I think you should also switch lip balms. Normal chapstick is mostly petroleum and despite what people will say, I don't think its good for skin or lips. It KEEPS moisture in by creating a barrier, but it doesn't actually hydrate if that makes sense. It will only keep any moisture you have in but not actually contribute to the moisture. I would switch to one with no petroleum like First Aid Beauty or Jack Black. The one from First Aid is $12 and Jack Black is $7.50. Not as cheap as drugstore balm obviously, but they are made with better ingredients. The Jack Black one ia fantastic. It's very hydrating and one tube lasts forever. It also has SPF which is always good to have.

I had the exact same problem for a couple years and it was so painful. But the two things that literally are my lifesaver and work the best in this situation is A&D ointment (you can find it at the drugstore) or Vaseline. Either one helps with the chapped lips but the A&D also helps with the scarring. Also, make sure you apply a simple lipbalm with SPF each morning!

I would like to add something to what everybody has said. My mom had the SAME problem and when she went to a doc it turned out it was anemia. I know, sounds strange, right? But cut corners of lips is a symptom of anemia. So if you could, just go to a doctor if the problem is really persistent.

Out of the balms I use.. Blistex, baby lips etc.. Carmex is the only one for me that healed the cuts and helped it stay mositurized. I wear it to sleep and during the day I just use simple baby lips thats it.
