Proactive actually makes you break out worse, especially if you STOP using it. I had pretty severe acne and I went to see my doctor. I got prescribed morning and night creams, and then an oral supplement as well. My face has been pimple free for over six months now. No pimples. No scarring. I also turned to the neutrogina skin care line for daily upkeep.

it could be your hormones, not sure but if home remedies don't work, then i would definitely see a Dermatologist, you may need a prescription, and also staying away from fried/greasy food may help, drink alot of water, avoid soda and sugary drinks! :-)

Be gentle on your skin. Do not scrub and Rub it.
Wash with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil gentle or Neutrogena extra gentle.
Toner - Alternate between Aspirin + Witch hazel (check youtube for aspirin toner) or 3% Peroxide solution.
Treat with Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 treatment from Neutrogena
Moisturize with an oil free moisturizer IF YOU NEED IT.
Sun Screen. Try Neutrogena ultralight.
Mask once or twice a week with Mashed up papaya or tomatoes/cucumber for about 5-10 minutes. You can use bentonite clay like Queen Heleene Mint Julep.
Do not scrub with those highly abrasive scrubs. Use baking soda in honey or water (3 to 1 ratio water to baking soda) or FINELY MILLED cornmeal in honey, rolled oats in honey. If you are dry do a hydrating sugar in olive oil scrub/mask.
Do not RUB your skin violently. Be gentle in circular motions.
Be diligent and patient. Remove makeup products that cause your to break out. Make sure you remove all your makeup before bed - try mineral oil. Change your pillow case often. Keep your hair clean and out of your face. Satin Bonnets to keep pillow clean. Dont pick your face.
If You dont see ANY improvement after 3 week try 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment. Will make you dry, you will need a moisturizer and compulsory sunscreen. Will bleach fabrics.
All the best!

Last night, I popped my aspirin mask cherry. I've Been eating a lot of fatty nuts lately and it broke me out! I took 6 headache relief pills (aspirin and caffeine) and crushed them up After I crushed the pills, I applied a few drops of a water to make a thick paste. I then used honey to create an easy mask solution. I spread liberally on my face and say with it for about an hour while I watched television.
To rinse, I did it in my shower. Before stepping into my shower, I dampened my fingers and gently rubbed the mask in circular motions to give myself a little extra exfoliation.
I couldn't even believe the immediate results.. Nothing I have ever done before has done such good for my skins surface. So smooth and I could visibly see that many of my blemishes looked calmed (while I could still see then)
BUT THIS MORNING MY SKIN LOOKS EXCEPTIONALLY BETTER!
I think anyone should attempt to brew up this mask if they are suffering with a sudden breakout or acne! I've never been so pleased with results from ANY of My face products!!

I went to the doctor and got Diane-35. Best thing I ever did. It functions as a birth control but it's an acne medication. It's actually illegal here in Canada to prescribe it as birth control. It completely cleared up my acne in 3 months and my skin has been clear now for 9 years. I also use the Clinique 3 step system. The lotion for oily skin is a gel and it doesn't get shiny or greasy. I literally have lotion phobia due to my acne and I will never use anything else. Once your skin clears up, get some revlon colorstay foundation for oily/combination skin.
As you can see, I've got this down to a science lol. Hope it helps.

I've never had bad acne, but I get the occasional bump. I put Neosporin on and let it soak in overnight. Next day it is gone and no scar. It makes your skin soft too.

Defiantly do not to accutane. I was on borth control and when I got off my hormones when crazy and I had severe acne along my jaw line. Bc I'm a licensed esthetician I gave myself microdermabrasions 2times a week a,used a strong salicylic cleanser w my clarisonic pro brush and my skin is perfect. It's a little dry from the cleanser but nothing a little moisturizer can't fix. So I advise to u,use something w salicylic acid n it. Preferably not OTC. U need something strong
