I wash my face with neutrogena naturals skin purifying cleansor plus makeup remover at night, then use neutrogena naturals face and body bar in the morning. for a toner I use witch hazel and my moistrizer is Walgreens sensitive skin aloe vera after sun gel. just purchased the gel bc the new face wash has been making me breakout in cystic acne and the gel helps redness, irritation, and aloe vera is a natural antibiotic. is it possible I've become immune to witch hazel..? or maybe the facewash is not for me...id love to hear some opinions :) ps I'm also on doxycyline 100 mg, have been since april.
thank you girls for your time!!

Wash your face with a mild dove bar soap. Also stop using after sun gel. Use 100% aloe if you have to but that gel is no good. Use something with rosemary in it for redness. I know you said money is tight but Yonka creme 11 is awesome for redness. Costs about $60 for retail size.

Change the toner to the biore astringent and use benzoyl peroxide on places where you tend to get acne

I started using the acne.org cleanser and I LOVE. It's gentle and PH balanced. But you do have to order online and with shipping it isn't very practical. Once you are done with your current cleanser, maybe use Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer?? I've hear amazing things on YouTube and on BL, although I have never used it. But it is dermatologist recommended and for sensitive skin. Good luck!!

When I was having problems with sensitive, oily skin and acne I used a gel face wash by Basis. I'm pretty sure they sell it at Walgreen's. When I started using it, it dried out my skin pretty badly, but after a week or two that went away and my skin got significantly better.

update- still using same routine my acne got better but i started using a clay mask once a week for the past 3 weeks and have been breaking out because of that...is it normal to flare up w whitheads and the occasional cyst after using masks and how many time do i need to use until i stop breaking out less...? thanks girls

It's completely normal to break out after a clay or mud make. That's it's job. Its a purging masks I it briga everything out and it's working. Be patient. U need a salicylic acid gel cleanser.

you also need an actual oil free moisturizer. your skin is producing more oil to compensate for the lack of moisture. also as erica stated a salicylic cleanser will work well. also, if u can visit a spa ask for a salicylic chemical peel. skinceuticals has one that is gentle enough and very effective.

I also have very sensitive oily skin and being pale with freckles the redness in my face was hard to hide. I tried forever to control it with acne face washes and astringints salicylic acid spot correctors... almost everything. until i read an article about how the chemicals in these things can make skin worse! so i turned my regimen around 180. i use a bamboo charcoal face sponge for morning and simple brand gel face wash at night and i moisturize with bio-oil. i know it sounds crazy but my skin has NEVER been this nice. i use a tiny bit of oil on my still wet face morning and night. my skin is soft my skin tone is more even and my acne is under control! of course when that time of the month hits i get those pesky flare ups but other than that i couldnt be happier with my skin!

Also the bio-oil really helped in healing my acne scars!
