Since I can remember I have always sucked my bottom lip. Mostly it's when I sleep but sometimes I've caught myself doing it during the day.
Every winter my lips get so dry probably from the constant moisture and the drying weather that it's painful. I also have a nervous habit to pick and bite at the dry spots until they bleed. Over the years I've developed scars.
Any advice on how to stop these habits?

That's when I don't do it.
But as soon as it's off whether it wore off or it's bedtime I'm back to it.

I really don't know about the sucking part, but if you feel the urge to pick your lips very often, then you might have dermatilomania, a skin picking disorder, caused usually by stress or with some other anxiety disorder. It's treatable and you shouldn't be alarmed, but just go to see a psychiatrist or psychologist that you feel comfortable with :)
