Depends wear you live and how the weather is. if it rains a lot riding boots because you'll mess up your uggs in the rain. if it's just cold but doesn't rain much uggs (:I have uggs I live in los Angeles it rains but not that much. its just really cold.

Uggs! Love my uggs, they are so warm and comfy, totally worth the price in my opinion as long as you take care of them. I use the care kit and they've held up even the rain didn't ruin them.
