Anyone have experience with semi permanent hair dye?

I want to dye my hair like jade thirlwall from little mix. She has that purple/black color, but I don't want it to be permanent, would semi permanent work on my brown hair and would the color stain my hair after it washes out?

Semi permanent doesn't stain the hair shaft. Only Demi permanent does. The purplish color will wash out very fast, but the darker color will stay in your hair longer. I would give it a try. I dyed my hair that color once, but used permanent! Hope that helped!

try punky color it lasts a few weeks and the colors are vivid. im not too sure about th staining dark hair, ive always bleached my hair before.. how dark is your hair?

Well I dyed my dark blonde hair in late May amber and my hair is still quite red but that's probably because I'm using special shampoo & conditioner for colored hair :)

Semi-perm will not be strong enough to recolor your hair. I used semi-permanent to TINT my hair because I have medium brown hair. If you want a full dye that isn't permanent, you will have to lightly bleach your hair so that the color holds. Because it's a semi, it will still wash out after a while. If you dont care how long it lasts (since you're going darker, not lighter) you can tint your hair, it just won't be as strong and will come out faster.

I don't think it will work on dark hair. I bleached the bottom half of my hair and always dye the whole lot on vivid manic panic colours which are semi permanent. The colour doesn't hold for very long on the blonde parts and doesn't show up on my natural dark brown hair at all. I only dye the whole lot so i don't miss a chunk!
