I think Honey is right it is a hormonal thing. I started getting it when I was about 13-14 and it lasted til about 17. I kept it under control using antibiotics from the dermatologist. I also had some problems with it when I was around twenty but I switched shampoo and it went away (weird, I know I guess my skin was having a reaction to the shampoo). now to keep random flair ups at bay I just use a medicated face wash on my back. like St. Ives apricot scrub with salicylic acid. you may want to talk with a dermatologist or your gyno about it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's hormonal and it could also be caused if you don't wash your back.
