Should I use it after shampooing instead of condititioner?
I am currently trying to grow my hair long, would a hair mask help my hair get longer?

hair masks are normally designed to improve the quality of your hair/ repair damage/ add moisture/ help with frizz etc. They have ingredients that can address particular issue, for example any protein based mask will help to improve hair texture while any oil based masks will help to tame frizz etc...how your hair grows is totally a genetic process and nothing you can do will change it. You can make sure that you are eating a healthy diet, keeping your hair and scalp healthy and trimming regularly to ensure your natural growth, that's it, can not really accelerate it.
Also, after shampooing you typically keep condition for 1-2 minute and rinse while masks should be kept for atleast half an hour or more for optimal result. so i'll suggest you you skip conditioner after shampooing (if you add regular conditioner it will add a thin layer around your hair so the masks will not be able to reach your hair any longer), step out of shower, make sure your hair is no longer dripping and put on hair mask. you can buy commercially produced masks or even make your own hair masks there are a lot of recipes all over internet :)
Hope it helps...

Hair masks can nourish, repair and strengthen your hair depending on the ingredients they use and the texture of your hair. There are lots of homemade ones and also pre-made hair masks you can buy in stores or salons. There's one salon hair mask I use (pro naturals argan oil) and it's great for growing your hair and making it stronger. Avocado and olive oil is also great for nourishing and growing.

Hair masks are so helpful in improving your hair health. But they can be really expensive. Check out this one that you can make at home.

it all depends if it for moisture or as protein in it or keratin. ones for moisture you can do daily for 2 to 5 mins or longer . the ones with proteins you only want to do once a week for 5 mins. to much protein can cause breakage .

I recently started using coconut oil! After one use my hair felt softer and wasn't as frizzy. Coconut oil is also supposed to help hair growth! What I do is put it on dry hair, into my scalp down to my ends and leave it in overnight and wash it out in the morning, double shampooing and one conditioning :)
