Should I cut my hair short again?

So last Christmas I cut my hair so short that there was 1/2 inch of hair you could grab in the back and to my chin in the front. its grown out a bunch (the front is past my boobs now!!) and I was wondering if I cut it that short again can I hide the clip in extensions or would they show?? please help and post pics too :) I might post pics in the comments, not sure yet.
