So I don't usually do TFPs anymore but a photog emailed me desperate for an mua so I decided to do it.
Not only was I there all day but the jewelry designer we were shooting for was horrible! - Really treated me and my makeup badly, insulted me and yelled at me like I was a child. LIke seriously at the top of her lungs yelled, why you ask? Because I went to comb down a stray hair on the model...
SO I packed up and left.
My mindset = I'm doing YOU a favor, literally all I'm getting is pictures so of course I want the makeup and hair to be on point.
I'm just horrified with my treatment especially since I donated 5 hours of my time and product for virtually nothing...

She literally walked up to the model and smeared the makeup off because it was "too dark" meanwhile she asked for a smokey eye, and I did it very light...
When she saw me leaving she ran up and apologized and offered free jewelry... hmmph

She walked right up and with her thumb swiped it off on one said and said "start over"
This is actually one of the worst experiences I've had, usually my TFPs are chill and I make great friends with the models and photographers. She kept expecting this and that and I just looked at her like no. wasting my time and product for no reason is not going to fly..
Shes going to mail me a custom ring lol

Carolyn I have been in some TFP situations but not as bad as you. I usually have desperate photographers emailing me last minute stuff and I simply say no. I wouldn't waste my time and energy for such free jobs. we are more talented and are spending our precious time for nothing. I would rather be paid than just be humiliated by people who don't care. In the past I have had issues with brides and bridal parties who do not want to pay my worth. now if they try to bargain all time I don't work with them anymore. I spend hours and hours on site and deserve the respect and fair treatment. I think you were right in your place to walk out. Such people are not worth the efforts.
