One of my close friends has recently transformed her entire look. She wears lots of black, bit sometimes adds spontaneous splashes of colour here and there. She says she just wants to look how she feels, but at school, people have been asking her why she is going goth, and others ask what made her emo.
I was wondering what the difference between emo and goth would be, regarding Style, outfits, attitude, etc.

I don't really know goth I thinkkkkk is just dressing in a lot of dark colors and I think emo is cutting your self and wearing dark colors. I don't know honestly that was always my guess tho.

I honestly don't even know labelling styles is stupid

But goth I think is usually more black, emo is the colorful version I guess. Both are just jokes now, people try to hard

Goth all black and dark black heavy makeup no color at all. Emo is for emotional they wear black but have like color and they have black with a bit of color hair. This reminds me of the south park episodes of the goth kids vs the emo kids.

Goths usually only were complete back and have loads of dramatic makeup. emos stick to black to but also use other colors the makeup isn't so drama.

Emo is referring to a style of music, which tends to be more emotional. Some people who tend to listen to that music dress a certain way, whether it be dressing in darker colors, dying hair, etc., but not ALL emos are like that. And, also, not all emos cut. Just because someone is emo doesn't mean that they cut! Goth is a movement that happened in the late 70s and early 80s with people dressing in darker colors, listening to goth bands, etc. Now, goth has evolved into different styles such as Victorian and Deathrock. Goths don't have to dress in all black to be goth. I am goth, but I don't always dress in black. I hoped this helped.
