Hello ladies!
I'm working on being a makeup artist and I finally get to practice on a couple of my friends. One of them is darker than me (half black half Mexican) probably about 4 shades darker than me. I obviously don't have any foundation to match her. I was wondering if I should go buy a whole new foundation or if there are products out there I can buy to darken my foundations in order to perfectly match skin tones whenever I want to work on someone darker or if I ever just want to get the color just right on anyone.

It's best to get a foundation that matches her

Should I just invest in buying foundations in a lot of different shades so I can be ready to do anyone's makeup?

Also my other friend is like just ONE shade darker than me.

Definitely. That's a good idea. If makeup artist is something you're going into then you really need to build kit. Invest in products for different skin colors, skin issues (oily, dry, etc.) get some different foundations, color correcting palettes, concealer palettes, etc.

Veronica, how often are you doing others makeup?.
you definitely need to get her shade.. but If this isn't something you do all the time you take the risk of wasting a ton of money because you'll use the foundation once n by the time you do her again or someone her shade it prob needs to b replaced.
you have the option to ask her to bring her own foundation n you use everything else from your kit.(primer, eye color, lippies, etc)..
now you do run the risk of them buying a product you'd rather not work with as first choice or the person who helps them choose their color didn't match it perfect, it oxidized, etc. but sometimes its better to work with that n the beginning.
it all depends on where you are in your makeup journey n where you plan on it going. ;-)

You should go buy a new foundation that match her skin tone

If you are going to be pursuing makeup and are just starting you can get the darkest and lightest shades of a foundation that blends well to create the in between shades you may need.
I just don't recommend using your personal one on other people.
