On Tuesday I'm leaving for Georgia and since its getting colder I know to pack warm clothes but I don't know to what level of warm clothes I should pack. What I'm trying to say is should the clothes be of a thick material or stuff that can be layered?

I would say stuff that can be layered! It tends to stay pretty warm in Georgia and you don't want to roast (I went one year in early spring and it reached 100?F)
