So to start off I am going to the U.S Marine Corps Birthday Ball this year and I am really excited/nervous. I want to have classic makeup but I need great products that are affordable and will last all night. The ball is in one month and will be located in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The picture to the right is the dress I bought.
What I was considering on doing for my whole look is wearing Old Hollywood Curls a winged eyeliner and a red lip. I have only worn red lipstick out probably like 5 times, and I am still a bit confused on how the whole undertones work. No one but my boyfriend (who said I looked like a doll) said anything about my lipstick but I am ready for some feed back. Right now I have Certainly Red from Revlon and Love that Red from Revlon. I want to have red nails or a sheer color since that is what is acceptable at this event along with French Tips.
So basically what I am asking for help with is
- Suggestions on how I should do my hair/nails/make-up (lip color/eye make-up)
- What color clutch and shoes
- Jewelry suggestions
Also,
The whole look needs to be simple and classy. Nothing too crazy, nothing that would be worn at prom (crazy up-dos) because it is frowned upon by the people at the ball. Which is why I am asking for help! I do love my Revlon products but I want something that is really moisturizing yet not so creamy so it doesn't smudge everywhere.
I need all the help I can get!

I saw you should go for a pin-up girl look since its super simple and classy. For the red lip maybe try a lip stain since it'll last longer.

I know there's a Belk Department Store in Hilton Head...most of them have a MAC Counter. I highly recommend you make an appointment and get your makeup done there. It requires a $50 purchase, but it's better than $50 just for an application! Every time I've gotten my makeup done for an event like this by someone at the hair salon, I've always been disappointed because I know I can do a better job.

i am a Marine Wife & go to the USMC Ball every year. Your dress is beautiful, red lipstick is perfect! You should put your hair up just like the girl in the picture, i'd go with a french manicure instead of the red nails/french tips, keep your eye makeup natural by using neutral colors since you will be wearing red lipstick. Go with a black clutch, black heels & wear diamonds or pearls.
