Had a monroe when I was about 17, but didn't wear it for too long ( 3-4months). Now I have a scar and found it disturbing. 5 years passed but it didn't become even a lil smaller. I've read about some procedures but does the effect last?

I can putsomething in from the outside but if I wanted to open it up I'd have to force it thru. btw I've done that swallowed my bar lol. I noticed my hole has shrank in size but it prob around a 16g atm and has never gone smaller than that.

I was thinking maybe to get a tattoo beauty spot, but not sure it's a good idea... What do you think?

Just jumping in, lol! I hate my monroe scar, because people always point it out. "you have a hole in your lip!" it wasn't even that big to start with (20g)! I usually cover it up with concealer (a minuscule dab not blended, under my foundation) before I go out. As for the tattoo idea, it's up to you! :)

There are medical procedures you can have done. From my understanding they basically use a hole punch like tool and remove the pierced area then stich it closed so you have a vertical line scar instead of a hole. You can Google it I've found people post the before and after photos

Oh Amber, maybe I'm a lil more lucky cause none ever tild me about it, but I dislike it because I have 2 scars.. one from monroe and another from varicella and 2 scars is too much for one pair of lips)))) Even if ppl find attractive the second one. I can't cover it with foundation... it can be seen anyway:-) I'n afraid that the tattoo will fade fast or that I won't find a good professional.

Annabelle, thanks I will check, I've googled for some procedures but the effect of those wasn't permanent.
Veronica, mine looks the same.
OMG... Why have I did it?? :\
Ps was anyone pregnant and wear a belly piercing same time? what happened to it?

I'm thinkin the same lol I was 16 when I had it pierced.so guessing if yours like mine you can't cover it up. I never had it but, had friends that had it when they were preg some kept normal belly ring others bought this one that advertised for preg women not sure of what its made of

Veronica, jewelery for pregnant looks very weird)))) I just seen some pregnant who's piercing hole gas extended so much that to could put a finger into... o_O
I ask cause I have a belly piercing and even if not pregnant now in few years this will happen and I would like to prevent future problems with it:-)

Some couldn't wear one bc their belly button popped out.wow never knew that could happen, well guess its due to all the stretching. the ring for preg women is flexible so not sure how much that helps.

I also have a Monroe piercing scar. I had it pierced for about a year and have had it taken out for around 2 years now. My scar is definitely still there but it isn't nearly as noticeable as it was initially (but that could also be because I didn't have it pierced for that long). I haven't done anything out of the ordinary, but I usually cover it with a bit of concealer. Hopefully yours shrinks more over time!

I actually think the tattoo idea is really cute, as long as you make sure you keep it small :)

I had my lower lip pirced and that's why our parents always told us no when we wanted something pirced you will have a hole forever trees nothing you can do and most scare creams don't work they basicly just use bleach like products to lighten that area of the skin so it less noticeable which isn't a healthy option embrace your scare love it it's part of your life story and if you want to hide it alil makeup will do the trick and if your like me an it's a hole honestly the only people to actually notice it are the ones you love and see everyday.
