I've been using Monistat Chafing Gel as a primer... I know that sounds weird. It works okay, but I feel like I isn't doing what I want it to do. So is primer really necessary and is Too Faced Primer is good as people say it is?

It's awesome! But a drugstore alternative is Rimmel's Fix & Perfect which is like $6 and works the same.

It's really thick and has an abnormal silicone feeling in my opinion. I disliked it because it clogged my pores and didn't really help hold my makeup in place. I have oily combination skin.

If your having trouble with it breaking out your skin use the prime and poreless pure, its less siliconey than smashbox more of a whipped consistently but what primer you should use is based off what foundation you use. if its a silicone based foundation you should use a silicone based primer, if its water based foundation then water based primer and so on.
